Jon Deyling

Director of Student Ministries &
Middle Language Arts Teacher at TCS

Q. You’re new to Director of Student Ministries, but definitely not new to working with students, what are you looking forward to most about working with the students at Trinity UMC?
A. I look forward to seeing the growth and development of the students from when they enter 6th grade to when they graduate as Seniors.

Q. If you could be any animal, what would you be?
A. A bear.  Not the swiftest animal, but fiercely protective.  Plus, hibernation sounds pretty cool.

Q. What’s the strangest food you’ve ever tried? And what were your thoughts?
A. Just recently, I tried Venison Meatloaf, made by Everett Barber.  It was fantastic!

Q. What do you love most about Trinity UMC?
A. I love the family atmosphere at Trinity.  It always feels like home.

Q. Would you rather be able to fly or read people’s thoughts? Why?
A. Flying, definitely.  I could see the world from a whole new perspective.

Q. What’s the funniest prank you’ve ever played on another person?
A. I tend to be pretty tame when it comes to pranks, as quite often feelings tend to get hurt.  However, I did wake up my oldest daughter on a recent Saturday, and I convinced her it was Friday and that she was late for school.
