Walk to Emmaus Retreat Program

The Walk to Emmaus Retreat Program is designed to promote the leadership of the Laity in order to support the mission of the local church.  Candidates attend a three-day retreat listening to a total of 15 talks on the Christian life.  The essence of the program is to focus on what it means to follow Jesus.

Effectiveness is measured by listening to a candidate reflect on the impact of the weekend on their lives and by feedback on activity in the local church.  A candidate who has completed the weekend is eligible to serve on a weekend in a variety of ways.

Emmaus is open to adult men and women.  Trinity candidates attend retreats at Dunklin Memorial Camp in Okeechobee, Florida.

Walk to Emmaus is a program of the Upper Room division of the General Board Discipleship of the United Methodist Church.  More can be learned about this national program at www.emmaus.upperroom.org.

Through it's mission of the month program, Trinity United Methodist Church makes scholarships available for candidates of Walk to Emmaus who request financial assistance to attend a weekend retreat.
